Whenever the above issues are raised, the response given by atheist biologists is that the origin and development of life took place gradually and progressively over time, They say that since no God existed initially, there was no one to make a choice, it all just happened ”the way it happened.”
But they have been refuted by the fact that no life organism, neither in fossil form or living, has been discovered which demonstrates the simplicity of the beginning they allege, A single-celled organism (amoeba), which is obviously at the lowest level of evolved life, has more complicated genetic coding than other so-called “more evolved” biological organisms,
”In the animal kingdom,” writes Edward R, Winstead, “the relationship between genome size and evolutionary status is not clear, One of the largest genomes belongs to a very small creature, Amoeba dubia, This protozoan genome has 670 billion units of DNA, or base pairs.
The genome of a cousin, Amoeba proteus, has a mere 290 billion base pairs, making it 100 times larger than the human genome.”Humans have some 30,000 genes whereas a worm has 19,000 genes. But in fact, going by the size of the genome, the amoeba is king” (Source: www.genomenewsnetwork.org, Sizing up Genomes : Amoeba is King)
We should keep in mind that the human genome contains around 3 billion chemical units of DNA, or base pairs. But the least evolved creature with the least biological and functional capabilities, the amoeba, has 670 billion base pairs. How do we explain these differences, even at a simple level of study? Does the tiny invisible amoeba need more genetic material than humans? There are no answers around. Indeed, there is no answer to the question about who placed this “information” in the genome. The atoms within DNA contain no information individually. Where does the information come from when the same atoms are placed together in a particular order in the form of a DNA chain? Still no answer.
The diagram on the previous page is of a base pair consisting of lifeless atoms. The DNA is made up of 3 billion such base pairs. Mysteriously, they carry millions of pieces of information, such as when and how to selfreplicate, while at the same time regulating the manufacture of thousands of proteins. Where did all this information come from?
Furthermore, molecules made up of atoms do not replicate anywhere on the earth. On the contrary, following the Second Law of Thermodynamics, they will disintegrate into smaller molecules and then into even smaller molecules. But remarkably, the molecules within a living cell do replicate. Not only do they replicate, such as in the DNA of the cell’s mitochondria, but they order the replication of other molecules.
One may legitimately ask, Why should they replicate? What advantage do they have in replicating themselves, taking into consideration the fact that they are unaware of what they are doing? And why should they be ordering the manufacture of other organelles? Who issues the command? It is commonly recognized by biologists that the operations going on within a cell are sensational because no one knows who issues the command to the DNA, seeing that there is no brain within the cell. Atheist biologists offer no answers.
DNA replication. Each strand of the original double-stranded DNA molecule serves as a template for the reproduction of the complementary strand. The double helix is unwound by a helicase and topoisomerase. Next, one DNA polymerase produces the leading strand copy. Another DNA polymerase binds to the lagging strand. This enzyme makes discontinuous segments before DNA ligase joins them together. Thus, two identical DNA molecules have been produced from a single double-stranded DNA molecule.
The fact is that in light of such discoveries, some biologists are now turning back to God. So it is no surprise that when, during a gathering of scientists, one mentioned God in a disrespectful manner, several others informed him of their displeasure.
