Looking for God? Get Reasonable!
The question of morality is another puzzle for atheists. Why should people observe morality if they live following a ruthless law of “survival of the fittest?” Why is it that human beings consider truth, justice, kindness, sacrifice, chastity, etc. to be virtues? Upholding such values when living in forests never helps any individual in his struggle to survive. In fact, altruism, which is found overwhelmingly among animals, contradicts the concept of evolution so completely and disturbs the evolutionists so much that they often discuss it but fail to explain it. At the genetic level in particular, some of their answers are quite bizarre.
Response to killing and suicide is another troublesome problem for these evolutionists. Why is it opposed? Even atheist biologists are against suicide and murder. They declare that life is sacred, thereby betraying a subconscious belief in a sacred Being who bestowed a sacred life.
But atheists never ask themselves why life is sacred or why humans should be prevented from committing suicide. And why do they agree to the death penalty for murder, an act which shows the killer is implementing the concept of “survival of the fittest”? Is it not obvious that it is the Creator who bestowed a sense of morality upon humans, a set of values which they recognize as being worthy of humanity? The Qur’an confirms to man that indeed, this is true. (Refer to 91:7-8)
